Hi, yes it does change. The overhang specification is the distance from the pole to the backboard when the rim is at a regulation 10 foot height. As you adjust the system down the backboard will project further into the playing area, as much as 1 to 2 feet, depending on what height you have it set at. There is a diagram in the installation instructions that shows the overhang at different heights.
