Hi, thanks for submitting your question. Replacing your old Goalrilla might not be too difficult. It's possible you could reuse the bolts in the concrete used to secure the pole to the concrete. Our THOR Silver Gold and Platinum all use a 9 inch on center hole pattern with a 3/8 inch diameter bolt. It's likely that's what the Goalrilla system is using as well. Double check that. While you're checking, also check the condition of the bolts to make sure they can be re-used. Sometimes they are too corroded and will not work. Next option would be to cut those bolts off flush and use a hammer drill and wedge anchor. Basically skew the bolt pattern over a few inches (if you've got that much room) and reuse the concrete block. If that's not going to work you can jackhammer that old footer down 6 inches, cover it up with dirt and you'd never know it was their. The new concrete footer could be poured to the left, right or behind the old footer. Behind works often, especially with our THOR Gold because it has a 4 foot overhang (defined as the distance from the pole to the backboard). It's likely your Goalrilla has a 3 foot or less overhang. So ... you could put the new footer behind the old one and the backboard would end up around the same location as it is now. Lastly ... you could remove the whole concrete footer and pour right back in that same hole. It's a lot of work. So ... I'd see if these other options work for you first.
